Testify in Support of Nondiscrimination Ordinances in Wake County and Raleigh!
This week elected officials in Wake County and Raleigh agreed to hear public comment and vote on local ordinances that would protect people from discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity, natural hairstyle, and more in key areas of life (including public spaces and private employment).
The County Commission and City Council will hear public comment and vote on Monday, October 18 in Wake County and Tuesday, October 19. Will you sign up to speak for 1-2 minutes about why you support LGBTQ-inclusive nondiscrimination protections in your community?
Here's how to make your voice heard:
Sign Up to Testify in Support of the Raleigh Ordinance: To sign up to offer public comment in person or virtually in Raleigh, you must sign up by TOMORROW, Friday, October 15, at 5:00pm ET. Click here to sign up, and in the notes explain that you'd like to speak in support of the nondiscrimination ordinance. The City Council meeting is at 1pm on Tuesday.
On Monday, Sign Up to Testify in Support of the Wake County Ordinance: To sign up to offer public comment in person or virtually before the Wake County Commission, click here on Monday morning at 9am – you can sign up until the meeting begins at 2pm ET.
