Event: Rally to Support Trans Youth in Union County

Students in Union County will hold a rally on May 27 from 1 pm to 3 pm at the Waxhaw Water Tower Community Corner. The rally is in response to anti-LGBTQ+ legislation in the NCGA and locally – the local school district, Union County Public Schools, recently passed an anti-LGBT+ curriculum censorship policy.

Join us in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC (at 400 Old Lyman St., next to Summit Coffee) and watch the installation of a powerful mural that sends a message that trans youth are loved and supported. This event is being hosted by the Campaign for Southern Equality and our Southern Equality Studios program.

Organizers are hosting an event to protest the anti-trans legislation being considered in the NC legislature. Come rain or shine, we will gather on 5/21 at 3 pm. We'll sing protest songs, hear personal stories, empower each other, and make plans for how to support marginalized folks in our community as we work to overturn hateful legislation.
